Challenge
The current Aquafitness app is outdated, with a poorly organized content structure and limited accessibility. The goal of this concept case study is to rethink and redesign the app with the end users in mind. I aim to transform it into an active tool that assists users during training sessions and provides valuable resources for home workouts, diet planning, and tracking health and exercise statistics. The app was also designed to promote the gym's additional services in order to improve conversion rates.
Ideation
The first step was to identify the current features through a content audit and identify the user personas and their user stories. From there, I outlined the features and functions that would compose the app. With the app's requirements documented, I proceeded to sketch the information architecture, which would later be translated into low/medium fidelity screens and later in development-ready high-fidelity screens.

Solution
The solution translates in a simple app, divided into four main sections:
Homepage: features all the important information that the users should need, regarding appointments, booked activities and/or latest workouts.
Workout: displays training prescribed by a personal trainer or during fitness evaluation and custom training, created by the user. This section also allows the user to start an empty workout, create it's own workout by adding exercises and defining sets and goals and browser existing workout templates.
Activities: the user has access to three categories: group classes, virtual classes and pool reservations. Reserved classes will also be displayed in the home screen. After a class, the user is prompted to review the class and leave feedback.
Diet: if the user is being followed by a nutritionist, this page should display the prescribed meal plans. If not, it should be informed of the gym's nutritionist services.
The app also features a user profile, where the user can access it's personal information, health and fitness statistics and payment and access history.
